Hi Nige

Do your self a huge favour and download Avast! as it has a free version and it works seamlessly for me.

Kaspersky and all the others i try are forever pulling up spurious files and locking them out when they do not contain anything dodgy.

Regards
Rick

Now you've done it

Glad you got sorted Nigel. I think the Kaspersky Internet Security might be a few quid more than that (it's advertised down here at around £25 I think) and to be honest.. it's more than I want. At any rate.. it's cheaper than going 'direct' and if the licence is for more than 1 pc.. then why not ;-)

Hi Rick, many thanks for the HU to Avast, will most probably do that next year when my license runs out :dancer:

Hi Jim, as a matter of fact I went to AVG yesterday and downloaded it to install today before going to PC World, the reason I did not install it was that I have Roxio 6 on my computer and unfortunately AVG came up with a warning of an issue, it would not run succesfully without the update for Roxio - went to Roxio for it but could not get it as my user name and password is no longer accepted :dunno: To download another Roxio product would mean paying and as I am happy with version 6 why pay for something to get something else for free? ;-)

Dave, Kaspersky at PC World Lincoln is only £19.99 full works although I don't need an all singing all dancing software it will do for twelve months and cheaper than just the Anti-Virus.

Many thanks again gents.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel

Rgr that. They must think we're made of money down here

I got my Kaspersky from Overclockers last year and I think I'll be doing the same again this year. Single pc OEM (AV) £8.04.. 3 user £10.34. For the one you have (internet security) it's £11.49 (single user)..£14.94 (3 users). Alternatively.. I might go for NAV at £12.64.......... NOT

I used AVG and payware Webroot Spysweeper, then when it came to renew my spysweeper I hung on until the last few days of my subscription and managed to get the full suite off them thats antivirus, spyware and firewall for about £15! Glad I did not buy it earlier
Its very good and easy to use, does not hog resources and has a gamer mode which helps. I did read a lot about them before I went to the full suite and read very good reports, so far it works ;-)

I hate it when folk do that too Nigel

I take it that Kaspersky will remind me when it's out of (or coming up to) subscription renewal time. I don't think I've had it for a year yet :o :dunno:  It's not on this pc anyway as I'm running AV that's probably already 2 years out of date :lazy:

EDIT..
I've just checked on the Kaspersky pc and have only 15 days left  Ah dear.. tks for the unintentional reminder  Right.. off to Overclockers ;-)

EDIT#2..
Okey doh.. that's the 3 user AV ordered and it'll be here on Sat (2nd Class post). Total.. £12.64  Make sure you remind me again this time next year :cpu:

I know its only peanuts... but how do they know if you buy the single licence but use it on another pc? Or is it just goodwill?

Hello Mate..

I think that part of the install is registration with them.. can't remember now. If a multi licence with Kaspersky is anything like a multi licence with Norton.. a 3 user pack contained 3 discs.. all with their own registration numbers. Never gone 'multi' with Kaspersky before so I really don't know mate :dunno:
