Repaint install

Post by WhisperJet »

Hi everyone,

it's a beginner's question I know but it's a neverdidthat-can'tknowhow-case so I'll ask anyway... HELP

I would love to get myself a few of the great repaints for the BAC 1-11 over at classicbritishfiles.com.
However when I download them I just get a zipped collection of files that wont auto-install.

Can somebody possibly tell me how to manage this? :dunno:
Where do I put which file to successfully install a repaint? :dunno:

Any help or guidance is warmly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick

Which one is is and who is is by??

Are you loading into FS.9 or FS.X??

I don't think any of them are auto intall....unzip the download and what you need should be in there

Hi Garry,

I spotted that great repaint range and decided it was the Lauda-Air repaint I wanted to start with.
I have re-checked now - sorry, it's my fault - there IS a read me. :doho: :worried:

But now that says:
Place the unzipped texture folder into the BAC 1-11 500HK folder...
Okay, got that. Will do that.

...and paste the above text into the aircraft config renumbering to the next available
Hmm? Where do I find that? And what is meant by "renumbering to the next available"?

Sorry to bother you with such fundamental stuff...
See I'm afraid of doing something wrong and fear I'm destroying a perfectly running system...

Thanks & best,

Nick

OK Nick :)

In the 500HK folder there is a CFG.open it in notepad.

The top part contains the paint entries.

Add the supplied text below the last paint entry..........above the General section

Take a look at the number of the last paint entry and re number this new entry to follow that number.

Okay, Garry, many great thanks! :prayer:
I'll try that.

And all the other tiles (now appearing as bmp) I'll just place them into the BAC 1-11 500HK folder.
Except for the thumbs, the jpeg and the readme, right...?

Thanx again, I'll report when being successful! ;-)

Happy virtual landings & have a good weekend,

Nick

Hi Nick

The only other thing you put in is the Texture.Lauda or whatever it's called provided of course you are FS.9. You don't need to put the pic of the paint in...there is no thumbnail just a jpg to show the paint but it is full size and for reference only.

Hope you enjoy the Lauda paint.....as if it wasn't Lauda-nuff already  :$ :doho:
