Flight sims were one of the few things about Microsoft people actually liked.

Fantastic quote from Nels Anderson in that article.

"I don't care how many times they go up-diddly-up-up; they're still gits."

Apologies for resurrecting a peacefully dead thread...
I have my suspicions that any further FS work will be directly focused at the Microsoft Live and Xbox crowd. This is based on info derived from a survey I did today, about which I can't say more due to NDA restrictions. In general, though, I think we can forget about anything in the nature of FS9 or FSX seeing the light of day in the foreseeable future.

In addition, Aerosoft is in the requirements definition phase of beginning their own Flight Simulator project, so we will probably have some form of simulator in the future that (hopefully) will have at least some compatability with the current FSX non-flight dynamics aircraft bits (i.e. can use the plane, panel, and sound with very little modification) and only require a new flight dynamics.

Let's just say that the impression I got was more of the "Counter-Strike-in-flight" variety of game, not sim.
