Woops, sorry matey, I meant to answer earlier but I couldn't find my glasses and by the time I found them, I'd forgotten why I had been looking for them.

I got the picture from a news group, alt.binaries.pictures.aviation. It was one of a large series of photos taken at an event called the Skagit Tulip Festival Fly-In, though that was the only photo of N9349M unfortunately. Still, I'm very pleased it is of such significance to you.

Back on topic, ( sorry to hijack the thread )...Ben, if and when you do get the Piper, it would be good to hear your opinions of it. Carenado seems to have a good reputation and I'll be in the market for add-ons later this year, so more info will be most welcome. Do you have anything else by them at present ?

I'd be buying this right after release if I didn't already have RealAir's B60 Duke :)
Error 482: Somebody shot the server with a 12 gauge.

Hi Paul

Yes I have purchased all of their products over the period of 4 years, and apart from a minor FDE bug with the T-tail arrow recently, I have nothing bad to say about them. Spot on as far as i'm concerned, even Mr. Piper is a fan of their Cherokee, and to be honest, especially as regards the three Cessna 172 models released recently, I don't think you'll find a payware developer that offers this kind of value over quality trade-off anywhere. Take the Simflight square tail Cessna 172 for example, that thing has default gauges and is twice the price :worried:

Hi Guys

Yep I can't find anything i don't like with Carenado's stuff.

they have always been top notch and they do exactly what it says on the tin.

I have them all so far.

also bought the RealAir Duke but find it superb but a little bland and over shiney for my taste (nothing a new set of specualar textures can't fix but i don't have time) & they have an too odd repaint policy for me to bother.

Carenado are a known quantity for me

Regards
Rick

Personally I think they are the most often overlooked and underrated of payware developers. As from a flying perspective, they are less heavy that those flying classrooms that flight1/dreamfleet churn out, where the emphasis is more towards learning the avionics suite and flying GA in IFR conditions, as opposed to VFR or hand-flying a couple of circuits.

Looks as though the FSX version is available now. Hopefully a 9 version to follow soon.

Ben... Rick... thanks for that. Because so much GA is provided in MSFS as default, I've never really paid them much attention. I'll definitely keep a closer eye on their products now.

The only problem I've found with Carenado is that they don't include a hybrid altimeter with their aircraft i.e. both ins/HG and Mb. I've written to them and they've said they'll consider it in future products, which doesn't help much with the Carendado aircraft I've already bought. I suppose since I use VC exclusively, there's no chance of changing the scale. Do any of you chaps know if this could be done?

Hi Chas,

Yes there is a way of doing this, use FS Panel Studio to swap the gauge around to another!
