Hi,

Anyone out there having problems with FSDS V3.5.1 crashing when working on the top view?

Hi Scorpius

Make sure your backdrop drawing is in 256 colours or less

FSDS of any number hates 16 & 24 bit bmp backdrop images for some reason.

Spot on mate, that was the problem!

The models I am making will be for FS9 and FSX.

:dunno: yeah it hapened to me too .so i just use fsds v2 and v3. im into gmax at the moment .just dont know what it is about fsds v3.51. it just takes hissy fits if you give it a bit work to do.

If you're into Gmax the best thing you can do is stay with that.

Moved onto Gmax now having 'cut my teeth' on FSDS3.5.1, pity really as the model (Handley Page Hastings) I had made looked quite good but I realise Gmax is much better.

Hi,

You do realize you can use the CVA Converter to convert your FSDS project into a DXF file and import it into GMAX? You'll only end up with the untextured and unanimated mesh itself, but that could save you some time.
