Condition is very good inside and out, despite it being stored outdoors. Recently the front galley was removed to reinstate the lounge area which was a feature between 1961 and 1969.

Cheers Toby

That was the only Swissair Coronardo I ever saw in service....1968 They floated down the lake on a barge, I think at the time a first for such a machine. Certainly looked after it well after thirty something years outside :)

Nice shots!
My mum used to work as a Nurse on these... ;-)

The Verkehrshaus in Lucerne is a must for anyone travelling to Switzerland!

Cheers,

Extremely well preserved aircraft.

I have a copy of an article somewhere that explains how they preserved this aircraft. It is a real benchmark on how to preserve aircraft in the open air.

I'll be in Switzerland this summer, I'll have to see if I can fit this into the schedule somewhere (my better half needs to be convinced ;-) ).
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

A bit different to the ex-Spantax one still rotting away near the end at the runway at Palma, Mallorca (20 June 2009)
