That would be wonderful news except I suspect it's to be for FsX only and I'm still an FS9 fan. We shall see.

Yes it will be FSX only and with Accu-Sim technology. A2A stopped building for FS9 a couple of years ago.

Do we really need this many Cubs? :dunno: I've always felt the default one was more than adequate for any casual flyer (and certainly much better quality than the default FS9 one), and I suppose A2A are taking theirs to the next level with Accusim (which does look excellent, from the preview vids).

Pretty sure there's an L-4 Grasshopper in development too. :o

Lewis can certainly correct me, but my understanding on why A2A is doing the Cub is less that there's a need for one but more for the fact that the Cub is an excellent development vehicle for furthering the Accusim technology. The hand start of the prop, the fuel "gauge", the engine vibration animation, the behaviour of the engine under varying conditions, and so on, are things that Accusim is based on and only Accusim can currently do. But try developing all of those types of things on an advanced aircraft. You can't because they have systems in place that make modeling those things unimportant since they don't pertain to the airplane. Also, from understanding Scott's statements, the stall and spin characteristics of the Cub will be a major feature of the finished product, so that is also something that you can do much more effectively in a Cub then in many larger aircraft since you can usually more easily take a Cub up and fly the maneuvers and then do them in the sim until they match.

One came out about 4 months ago from Flight Replicas, I hope there is not another one in the works......what we really need is a nice FSX native Auster ;-)
