I'm thrilled to see that FS9 finally jumped on the new pretender. I was prepared to delete the post should this not have happened

I just can't go back to FS9 after using FS10 for a while :)

Quite right, too! Good to see you're on the case, Dave!

I am a bit surprised, though. The FSX guys seem more vocal in the defence of their sim - so I got the impression there were more of them

Funnily enough, I don't use FSX that much - simply because I can't run it as well as I'd like - YET. If I get the performance improvement I would supposedly get if I install Windows 7 in 64-bit, I might actually change over, I just don't know that I want to install Windows 7 BETA (or GOLD) yet. I think I may wait until I can get a DX10 graphics card and have time to move my stuff off of the C/D physical drive and do a complete reformat and repartition of that drive. That may mean that I actually just go and build a new system, but we'll just have to wait and see as I don't have that money right now anyway. :)

I think that's what holds back a lot more people than anything. They got a computer capable of running FS9 well and FSX decently, but they don't feel that they're getting the performance they want out of FSX and that's why they haven't moved completely yet. I think the longer we go and the more that get around to their own personal "update cycle", we'll continue to see more movement to FSX.

The latest issue of PC Pilot has an article on the future of FS9 and basically concludes that it is far from dead.It makes interesting reading.Apparently they have run it in Windows 7 and it goes like sh!t off a shovel !( er hmm that means very rapidly). :) EricT

Interesting Eric

If I upgrade to Windows 7, do I have to install a shovel or is that included by default

I have plenty of sh1t spare.

Garry I must confess that the choice of phraseology was mine and not what was printed in the mag !I will have to re-read it to check on the supply/availability of shovels. As to the material being shovelled, some would say that I am full of it ! EricT
