Did you (or were you able to) go inside the One-Eleven?? Would love to see what her 'office' looks like as well as the rest of the cabin come to think of it
Hi Cris558.
Great shots, far better than i got,i to was there on sat, trying out my new digital SLR,but i could have done with a better telephoto lens,as my 55-250 just was not up to some of the pics i could have got,i left my house at 01:30 with the rain lashing down, thinking am i doing the right thing, but thankfully the weather turned out to be great,i went there for the catalina,as i had a ticket to go inside, and that was to good an opertunity to miss,as this is one of my favourite second world war aircraft, this was my first visit to fairford.
I loved the air display, the red arrows as sharp as ever, but the other displays where also very good,i think i might go again to fairford, work permitting.
regards alan.
Office on 553 was fairly standard 475. Fuel gauged in lbs.
Only had a quick look, but as far as differences concerned, MFD on left side of pedestal about halfway back for GPS and rear right edge of pedestal were TCAS controls but duh, I forgot to look for the TCAS display although it may well be connected through the MFD.
Cabin, there was a galley stowage at front left (rear facing) and a triple seat front right. From there back, was a freight floor. There were, I think, two triples fitted at rear right. Standard two rear loo's and front galley stowages (vestibule). Oh and of course the freight door!

I wondered if that's the reason you were asking Nige They're a right bunch of anoraks this lot so you can bet at least one of em has the shot you want ;-)
It was a tad wet and rainy when I landed to say the least so the low overshoot was suitably restrained.
The departure was a little more exciting however as we were at a light weight, needed to do a rated take-off due balanced field calcs and could do some pilot training to boot.
Great to do of course but you rarely get to see what it looks like!
Keeping my fingers crossed as would love some shots for the old logbook.
Best wishes
Nige
Things wasted to a pilot:
Runway behind you
Fuel in the bowser
Money in the bank
I was fortunate enough to be on an AAR sortie with Tonks some years ago and took as many shots of the Tonka's we fuelled as my trigger finger could snap I often thought it would be nice for the pilots/crew to have copies of the shots for posterity but didn't know how to go about it. I suppose Tonks would have been the obvious choice but it's likely that too many years have now passed (I think it was 2006 and most of the F3's have probably gone as may have the pilots/crews concerned).
Fingers crossed one of the boys is able to come up with something for you ;-)
