Sir Bobby Robson has sadly lost his battle with cancer. In my mind the last proper English England manager, his passing will be a sad loss.

I was sad to see this too. I no longer have a shred of interest in the game at any level, but I'll always remember the 1990 World Cup; New Order's 'World in Motion' , nessun dorma ad nauseam, and Bobby Robson taking us to the semi-final. He came across as a real gentleman, and a very amiable bloke.

One of life's gentlemen with a passion for his sport that reminded me of Bob Paisley and Bill Shankley.
