Is buying 'scenery' packages for only landscapes and would I need a seperate 'airfield' package so that I can get a more realistic airfield rather than just the FSX set up of what an airfield looks like?

Hi Ant,

The VFR Photographic Scenery GenerationX will give you all of the mesh (hills mountains, bumps lol that type of thing) and the photographic textures on top of them. The UK2000 stuff will give you the airfields modled acurately and sitting correctly on top of the photo textures. Also UK2000 do separate addon airports that are also optomised for the Horizon VFR stuff.

Hope thats a bit clearer. :)

yep, thats best, but the Horizon scenery is a good place to start. I'm just wondering how your graphics card will handle it all though given the problems with DM's models as its quite expensive, would be a shame to buy it and then find your PC wasn't displaying it correctly

So the VFR Photographic Scenery GenerationX and then UK2000?.

I hope the graphics handles it, it should do, I've only the problems on the two aircraft as mentioned. It's quite a powerful graphics card though, GeForce GTX260 800 and something mb of ram on it.

Yeah, I think so (Jan or Feb). Speaking of which, I could see if there are any later.

Do the scenery packages have to be added in that order? What if I just had the airfields package and then later decided on the other scenery one.

Hi Ant,

No doubt you can do it in that order too... but the uk2000 stuff asks during the install (or detects automaticaly - can't remember) if you have the Horizion VFR stuff and then modifies the install acordingly... not sure if it would cause problems later on
