Recently, the former Mrs. FlyTexas and I decided to take our bicycles for a ride from Texas north to Oklahoma. The weather was absolutely perfect! Temps in the mid 80's F with very little wind. We took our time getting up to Oklahoma (no race) and found a great cyclist-friendly hotel which let us keep our bicycles in our suite. Neat! The ride (120+ miles roundtrip) was a lot of fun. Here are a few pics from the ride.

Thanks for posting those, Brian. It's great to see what everybody gets up to when they're not simming and to see pics of places we wouldn't normally see. With those lovely wide and deserted roads cycling must be a pleasure in that area.
I've just treated myself to a new mountain bike and have been putting a lot of miles on it, but I avoid riding on the roads in the UK. The traffic is too heavy and unforgiving. 90% of my riding is off-road so I don't cover that sort of mileage. But on the other hand I get a softer landing when I fall off
I bought a new bike 2 weeks ago after spending ten years with a mountain bike (which I hated) I have a little cracker, fits like a glove and is very fast. Whats more it will happily cope with the paths between South Shields and Sunderland along the coast. Nice to see you guys enjoying the fine weatehr, and love the mini rear view mirror... thats class!

Large road? Nah, Gary - that is a small country lane. Everything is bigger in Texas.
That remark reminded me of the London Cabbie who had a Texan on board who kept on comparing everything he saw with Texas i.e. everything being much bigger. Whilst stationary in a traffic jam on London Bridge the Texan asked the cabbie 'What's that little stream down there?" Without so much as a pause the cabbie drew a long breath and cried out "OMG!! the radiators burst!!
