Westhampnett Wonders

Post by AllanL »

Well it is supposed to be a Magical Step Back In Time - (modern prices excepted).

At the risk of tempting fate this coming weekend may be the last time, if ever, that a Vickers Vimy, Avro Lancaster and Avro Vulcan are seen airborne at the same event.

Might even be some cars about and young Girling Foss celebrating his birthday.

Toodle Pip.

Indeed Dave :)

Next month I think it is for the last flight. *-)

Is it still going to fly into a temp strip at Brooklands?

Hello Mate :hello:

I couldn't say one way or the other I'm afraid. I know that was a plan (one of many) and may still happen but an aircraft of this type cannot stay outside.. even if it will never fly again and we are desparately short of hangar space. I'll keep an ear to the ground and post any news when and if it happens ;)

*-) Good point about hangarage

A couple of winters outside and it will be suffering badly...... :worried:

Perhaps it can be hung up somewhere :D

As someone who was part of the campaign to get Goodwood back on the scene, I would love to be there. However, without moving back to the UK, this is unlikely!!!!

I asked about the Vimy yesterday at Brooklands and Goodwood would appear to be it's last display. As we only have one hangar.. that will be it's final resting place though what's being oiked out to make way for it seems less clear *-)
