Another nail in the coffin to airbases in the UK. When and where is the next axe going to fall.

Aldergove was pretty much my 'second home' during my SH time in the RAFand I have mixed feelings about its demise. The way the govenment is going, the only bases left in 10 years time will be in Afganistan and still they will be wasting money and lives for the sake of suposed 'freedom'.

Aldergrove closing has been on the cards for a while. Still a shame though, although operationaly it doesn't make sense to have it .

It has been windiung down for a while a continues for the time being...but theis is the official closing and makes it newsworthy as it confirms the reality
