Is the 'Pond' dry for you???
I was just trying to get some files from Classic British Files, the 'Otter's Pond' and for me all the DL's dry up totally after about 20% of the DL and are never more than 6kbs either. Has anyone else here had trouble?

Trev.
Not sure what your problem is -- Just went over in test mode and downloaded several large files quite sucessfully the smallest
of which is was 15mb. Rob has been tweaking the new site for almost 24 hours.
Please be so kind if you have any more problems such as this to address them to the admin staff at classicbritishfiles.
Thank you

Hi Trev..
I've just pulled a 7mb file and was seeing between a low of 51Kb/sec and 80Kb/sec.. for the most part it was around 75KBs. Sangria in the phoneline perhaps??

Re: Is the 'Pond' dry for you???
It seems very ISP dependant.
I downloaded two test files of at least 10mb each and got a rough average of 300kbs, that's with Virgin Media on a 10mb connection so it nowhere near maxes out but isn't crazy slow either.
Let me know if anyone else has problems and i'll get looking into it as soon as possible.
I'm just working on a secret new feature which I hope everyone will like
Rob.

Re: Is the 'Pond' dry for you???
Hiya Rob
I'm only on 2mb BB here and what I saw today is par for the course with what I normally get from the Pond
. The only place I get really good download speeds from is here (in excess of 200kbs)
Now.. I'm trying to imagine what the secret new feature might be

Re: Is the 'Pond' dry for you???
I just tried again and got to 14% of the Sea Venom and slows to 4 kbps then says 'complete' (times out?). I tried another file with the same results. I DL files of 10 times this size without problems normally, but I usually use a Download Manager, which I do not think will work on this HTML page layout.
I will try another two files in the next 24 hours and post my results over there. I posted here, because no site owner normally willingly admits to a snag, and I sometimes get snags with DL sites, Simviation is the same, I seldom can anything from there, but FS.com is quick and always good. The problem may well be here!!!

Re: Is the 'Pond' dry for you???
Hi guys, I have now joined the 'Pond' forum to move this problem of mine over there. Hopefully they will be able to sort it out somehow. Unless you have the same problem, please do not bother to add anything here.

All will be revealed shortly, if I can iron out the last few bugs!
