Hiking in Colorado

Post by cjw50310 »

In keeping with the outdoors theme, here are a few snaps from a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park a few weeks back.

The trusty motor, enjoying Mt. Meeker:

Yours truly, on a rock by some river (without sunglasses, hence the uncomfortable grimace):

Truly the high point - taken at just over 12,000 feet:

Still plenty of snow lying about:

The last three are some of my favorites - hard to pick the best one though.

It was certainly difficult coming back to the plains...

Thanks for looking,
Chris

Jeez Chris,

what incredible pictures. What I would'nt give to take the bike on some of the mighty trails over there. I believe that Colorado is quite Mountainbike friendly.

I'll put it on my list of places to go. :)

Cheers for sharing.

I'll come too, Eddie! But you'll have to wait for me at the top

Fantastic pictures, Chris. Absolutely stunning! I agree with you about your favourite three pics and my favourite is the first of them. I think Ansel Adams would have been proud of that one.

Keep hiking - keep posting photos!

Cheers

Ian :)

Many thanks for posting those photographs Chris, all too often we take many things for granted in our lives, to view scenery like that is just wonderful, to be there and actually see it is another thing altogether....absolutely fantastic!!.

I'm really glad I live here! We've already had snow a few times in the high country, including last Wednesday, when i was up by the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Stunning pictures, Chris. Of your three favourites, I vote for the first one - it is a fantastic picture.
