Downwind at dusk

Post by Effoh »

I know I'm supposed to be in China flying Tridents, but it's thunderstorms there and sunny here, so couldn't resist a wee sneak home for a circuit in the Comet. Brucie bonus if you get the airport - the island in the background is a fairly accurate rendition of the real deal and I'm heading west-ish :)

Hope you enjoy

Rgds,

Colin

Pleasure

I especially like the effect on the ground which is not always 'in sympathy' with the sky to the correct degree, but nice here :)

right Garry ,
MS wasn't known to show much sympathy, with it's scenery , or it's users.

Nice screenie Colin, :)

makes the lyrics from Pink Floyd come to mind....And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking :tunes:
home , home again.. I like to be there when I can ...
When I come home cold and tired .It's good to warm my bones beside the fire

cheers

now off to youtube and play that song

Gordon,

Close, but no cigar ;)

Airport is Glasgow, downwind for 05, but spot on with Arran.

Have a beer on me

Cheers mate, Cracking shot by the way.

I recommend an Arran Dark then, if you can find one in the local store, a very nice ale brewed on the said island itself, in its only brewery. Has a very similar colour the the sky in your screenie to, lurvley  .

Come to think of it, looking at the shot a bit closer, you are a tad north for Prestwick  should have known.

My other half's best mate lives right under the glide path of Glasgow's main runway, probably not far from where the Comet is in the shot. When I say close, you can count rivets in the underside of anything landing from the southwest when it passes over the garden, I'll have to get a few shots next time we're down there for you folks.
