A Bit of a Setback

Post by speedbird591 »

I thought I was doing quite well with my 757 training and was confident enough to try some circuits at Heathrow.

But I think Chief Pilot McLeland will be asking to see me in his office :worried: Something about not following procedures ...

Exactly Joe. If that happened.. I'd lay the blame fully at your controllers door ;)

That's the thing, you see. I was so pleased that I'd locked on to the ILS without reading the manual, that I forgot all about controllers and traffic until I took a peep from outside and saw armageddon bearing down on me  I don't think I'd have the nerve for this hobby if I didn't have a P key!

I would have thought a simple radio call along the lines of 'sail before steam' or indeed 'Fore!' would overcome any unpleasantness :)
