Aeroscene Simulations
I apologise if this is in the wrong forum however,:
Some time ago, I saw various adverts for a new scenery developer, namely Aeroscene Simulations, based in Scotland and who had produced sceneries of both Glenrothes Fife and Dundee Riverside. They also claimed to have another major airport in production.
I tried to submit an order for Dundee way back in March 2009 but the website would not accept my credit card. I eventually received an email (in May) from the company stating that there had been a problem with his ISP but that as a gesture of goodwill he gave me a code to order the product free of charge. I duly ordered the scenery again but nothing happened. After chasing Aeroscene, I was told that there was yet another problem with his ISP.
I have re-ordered the Dundee scenery (back in June) but still have not taken possession of the product. Since then I have been fobbed off and given a series of excuses but no refund and no scenery. Aeroscene now just ignore my emails and their alleged support forum has been down for weeks now.
Has anyone actually been able to buy any of Aeroscene products; if so could you post details of how you managed to do so?
Aeroscene did have a support forum on Avsim but it has disappeared. Whilst it was in existence, I posted a couple of questions but they were deleted.

Re: Aeroscene Simulations
I don't recall having heard of them before now mate. I take it you didn't lose any money??
EDIT..
I've just googled Aeroscene and had a look on their site. The only scenery (the only product) I see for sale is Fife Glenrothes (2009). Their support forum seems to be in Maint Mode

Re: Aeroscene Simulations
Dave,
He owes me £12 but I would rather have the scenery. The design of his website changes frequently but this latest change is the first one to advertise only one product. I have no idea what he is playing at; he doesn't seem to want to actually sell anything!

Well, it seems you are not the only one who has parted with cash to this outfit. I've found another post (Avsim forums) after a 5 second Goggle.
Having looked at their site, the tiny 120 pixel 'screenshots' look highly suspect... or they would if they were bigger, as there's nothing to say they're not screengrabs from Google earth and photos of buildings.
I can't think of any reason (if I were selling something) for such tiny images.

Jim,
The post on Avsim will be mine. I also posted on Flightsim.com in the hope that someone can shed some light on what is going on.

Re: Aeroscene Simulations
You have my sympathy, have to say I can think of a perfectly valid reason for such tiny pics - not legal but valid.
Personally, for £10 I'd want the title deeds to Glenrothes Airport never mind a sim model. How the h*ll do you use up 175MB on Glenrothes??? Why the h*ll would you want to..............................
Seriously though - would Scotflight scenery not do, you get some 30 or so airfields for, admittedly, double your money.

Re: Aeroscene Simulations
Hi Folks
John -
I can't remeber why,
but I'd searched for details on them previously.
The developer behind the previous incarnation of Aeroscene
was one Matthew Murray.
He'd previously posted over at FSDeveloper,
but his last post there was Dec 2008.
Previously their site was at - http://www.aeroscene-simulations.com
but they'd failed to renew the domain.
There was an address attached to their old domain registration,
but unpublished for the current - http://www.aeroscenesimulations.com
EDIT - John, see your PMs.
Allan -
The 175MB was a photoscenery.

Re: Aeroscene Simulations
I'm a bit late coming to this thread, but it was ringing lots of bells as soon as I glanced at it.
Similar thing in the VF Forums, a while back:
http://www.visualflight.co.uk/forums/to ... IC_ID=8718
So if you find out anything about this crowd, please let everybody know.
If you steal GBP12 from each of a million people, you get GBP12,000,000.
If you steal GBP12,000,000 from one person or entity, you go to jail for a long long time.
Not being a politician, I can't see any difference between the two thefts...
Best of luck

Re: Aeroscene Simulations
Yup.
Just had a look again and I see the 'Screenshot' has changed to a tiny Google aerial view. The thieving git is now calling it a 'bestseller'.
