Points being welded

Post by decapod »

When I told it not to!

Here's the problem - left shows the modelling tool (3D Canvas), right shows the FS9 VC
I'm using 2 .X files, one exterior, one interior and MakeMDL.

Some of the vertices have been welded together to give a slightly odd shape around the guage.
The ones on the smoothed surround were about 2.3mm apart.

In MakeMDL I turned off the weld points option which has this effect.

Has anyone come across this before?

Hi Paul,

Sorry, I don't know about 3D Canvas but there is a glitch when compiling with makemdl that will weld points in the VC that are closer than 4mm.

There is a work around but it's a bit convoluted, read through this thread, or search for '4mm bug':

Hope that's of use,

Thanks for that link. It should be possible to do with my setup.
