I agree. And he is going to build a 1:1 scale version of the very first Airfix kit I ever built in 1:72 scale - the Spit Mk 9. Hope he doesn't get glue all over the cockpit canopy like I did :worried:

From the clip I have seen, it looks more like a scaled up version of the 1/24 scale Spitfire Mk1a, which was a really nice kit! Funny how he looks the part as the pilot, despite looking like he is asleep...or dead!

I have the telly to myself tonight, so I shall be watching :excited: :excited:

Good programme. Nice to see the kids seeming genuinely interested in the art of model making. And the 1:1 scale Airfix Spitfire managed to stand up without drooping or collapsing!

Now, why don't us guys get together and make something a tad bigger in 1:1 scale, of something not in a museum...a 748 pehaps?

Or a Trident 1C

I missed the first twenty minutes but saw the main part :)

The Spit came out well..I did think, just for a sec that it was going to fall apart as it went over the bump as the UC seem to be twisting but it was great.

Pity a few more can't be made for kids around the country to knock up for their local area.

I wonder what it cost *-)
