We're now in a new day and I'm STILL in a good mood Hope it doesn't rain overnight though as all that may change. Found a damp patch on the carpet this morning and no.. it wasn't me!

Yep.. cheers mate. I'm still smiling now For years, I've wanted to be the man who controlled the START/OFF switches and today, that was realised I was also on Comms (privilege of the LH seat) and I gather from the Tony (connected to the nose bay headset) that we had the nose gear jumping (it felt like it on the FD too ) and as a consequence, we lost the tail steady Yeeee Haaaaaaaa
Importantly.. not only did the rain hold off, the sun came out.. something I gather that didn't happen in Berkshire while I was out galavanting

Hi Dave,

Well done mate, you deserved that , I've known many a new guy who swore their legs turned to jelly when I let them do their first start up, quite a lot happens in a short space of time eh?.
You should try it with all 4 running and taxying the big bugger around a tiny compass base at the same time, you have to stick your head out of the DV window so as not to run off the edge of the concrete, and that means you have to stand up out of the L/H seat.

Never a more accurate statement made Fortunately.. we've known one another for years and we do a fair job of covering each others rears Now.. flying the C1K sim at Brize with DM.. yes, stomach churning, legs shaking.. EVERYTHING shaking. No time to think.. just hang on!

There were loads of folk with camcorders watching the second run so hopefully, at least one of them will be 'cool' enough to upload a vid of the event. I hope so anyway

Unfortunately.. that digicam doesn't have a fast enough shutter speed. The props look like they're hardly turning (but with an odd vorticees effect) and the whole plot looks rather squashed Hopefully.. there'll be more
