Hmmm. Inscrutable little devils! What are they thinking?
Maybe it's like the old cargo cults of the Pacific Islands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Frum) where the natives built mock airstrips to encourage Western aircraft to land and deliver them valuable cargo
Perhaps the Chinese are hoping it will prove attractive to overflying US Navy pilots so they can keep the aircraft
