Radfan Hunters...

Post by petermcleland »

Ray Deacon has recently added quite a bit of stuff to this site:-

http://www.radfanhunters.co.uk

My contributions can be seen by clicking:-

Gallery Pages > 208 Squadron > Pages 1,5 and 6

and also at:-

Anecdotes > Peter McLeland

Those of you that have my booklet will have seen all my pictures before but there are many there by others and the whole site is of considerable interest :)

It's an excellent site and Ray Deacon is a very helpful chap, too. No.8 Squadron held a reunion at Tangmere a little while ago - the museum's chairman, Gp Capt David Baron, flew Hunters in the Radfan with the squadron. For the occasion, I did a self-running PowerPoint on the history of 8 Squadron which was designed to run in the background while they were having lunch and all the Radfan material came from Ray. Incidentally, the idea of it running in the background failed miserably - apparently, everyone stopped eating to watch it. 8)

I'm just about to start work on a new display board for the museum about Hunter operations in the Radfan which will be on display from 1 February next year.

Thanks for that Peter, I enjoy reading about the less well know RAF operations. :)
