I did a search on Avro York for other reasons and that pic came up on a train enthusiasts site

It overan a nearby runway after failing to become airbourne

Was that a valuable cargo of wartime beer it was carrying?? Looks like one lying on the track. Thoughts of 'Whisky Galore' spring to mind
