Here's a video of one of my botched-up landings at Juneau International. I just can't get this approach right The localiser is offset, due to high ground, with a last minute turn to runway heading. There's no glide slope beam (which is correct as in RW) so descent is visual using the VASI lights and it's all too much for my little brain
On the plus side it does show off some of the best freeware available in FS9. The scenery is Glacier Bay, the aircraft is Erick's 737-200 and the panel is the Tinmouse II. The pilot - well there has to be a weak point somewhere ...
I particularly like the sound of the JT8-Ds spooling up for the go-around.
Take heart Ian. I have tried that approach many times at Juneau International. I can only remember one landing when all the passengers were not reaching for those little paper bags!
Great video but I would have gone for the landing, in fact my passengers would have expected nothing less from me, due to my ability to crash planes I have set up a new airline with one way tickets, I call it Dignitas Airways "your final flight to the stars" neat little title I think.

Tony - Dignitas - I like your thinking. Are you only allowed to fly to Geneva? At least you save on landing charges and airport fees at the destination. Have you thought of a suitable livery, yet? And a spin-off business offering travel insurance? Oh, I can see this thread getting very silly ....
Colin - you are correct that using my super-refined senses as a zen master I should be able to execute a perfect landing every time - blindfolded. What I haven't admitted before is that my discipline is actually ikebana, in which I hold a pink belt
I have to admit, I'm with the majority here. Your "botched" landing makes my usual attempts look pitiful... 'course, being a crusty old Navy type, I believe in Carrier approaches no matter how long the runway... at least the pax know we've arrived!

Ian, just found this post of yours and have to say what a brilliant video it is.
Having watched that I must re-install Glazier Bay, forgotten how good it is. Now to more serious stuff, how on earth can you find yourself having to go-around on that approach? The master of Kai-Tak I ask!! No excuses mate, just not good enough, now go back to ground school and don't come back til you can do it properly!!
