1-11 review of 2009

Post by WhisperJet »

Dear All,

I would like to direct everyone here to Peter Clark's fabulous 1-11 site for a quick review of the 2009 activities around this great airliner!

http://www.bac1-11jet.co.uk/bac1-11jet.co.uk%20News.htm

Infos about the quoted OSOB Air can be found here:

http://ossobaironline.com/index.asp

Let's all hope the frames flying will survive 2010!

Cheers,

Nick

Thanks, Nick.

If anyone wants to hear a 1-11 right now get yourself over to Boscombe Down! I'm 20 miles away as the crow flies but I can quite clearly hear the ETPS aircraft flying touch and gos from here! And long may she do so!

Ian :)

Interesting and informative link. Cheers for the HU Nick.

Whilst we are on the subject, I wish someone out there knew anything about the African Viscount current or last known movements. :((

HI Eddie :hello:

  Obviously you've missed that One-Eleven link when posted several times previously :xgrin:

Just as well things get reposted :)

Nothing on the Viscount except the former G-APEY that was stored and then confirmed as scrapped is reported to still be airworthy and flying a month after it was said to have been scrapped *-)

Potentially.....due to reports, there could be three flying but the 700 in that group although complete has been parked for a few years on the ramp and a pic recently showed.....as can be expected out there....it is covered in moss and grime.

One thing I think you can be sure of is that a Viscount..due to corrosion problems twenty years ago will never again fly in Europe. :'(

Unless it was completly rebuilt.
Garry
