Hi Dave,

I get very negligible hit on frame rates as I always fly with my FSX Autogen slider on Max. right. while my FSX CFG is also permanently editted with the addition of the following two lines under the terrain section


[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_Cell=1800
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=2400

An AIO folder for VFR Generation X V2 with its texture folder accomodating also, any other AGNs of other scenery addons; on a separate hard drive from the one containing the OSS and FSX. and regularly defragged after any additions to it. May be another helping factor

I only did this video with Zero autogen slider on a special request by someone on the Horizon Forum thread.

Hi Again Dave.

The choice of the right aircraft or heli to fly,is paramount to enjoy the scenery at its best and with the best possible frame rates.Especialy so if you are to capture your flight on a video using FRAP.

Frap is a great utility and improving all the time but it has a hit on the frame rates so you need to be at least running normally with a frame rates of 20-30 before deploying FRAP for recording the flight; and especially so too if you are flying a heli which fly better at frame rates above 15 during the video recording,

That is the reason for mentioning the three helis for that purpose,including Rick's Bristol Sycamore.. Good frame rates,easy to fly and a Vertual cockpit with a good wide untinted glass view.

Super duper too if it is a float heli too.

Yup.. I'd wondered if FR's using FRAPS was also a reason. Good job you didn't use the FSHeli FSX Lama. I tried that using the default Alderney and it stopped my E8400!
