FSX Scenery--Oxenhope Airfield UK, for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Horizon VFR Photographic Scenery Generation X (Vol. 3). Situated on a hill, high above the town of Haworth in the heart of Yorkshire's stunning 'Bronte Country', Oxenhope offers a challenge to the pilot that is rarely found in the United Kingdom. The runways are short and the airfield is surrounded by stone walls, high ground and power lines. This scenery features full local autogen trees, animated wind farms on nearby hills and animated horses in the adjacent field. Requires additional files LENS_EZ_SCENERY.ZIP and UKVFR.ZIP to function properly. By Trevor Clark.

Fancy a challenge?
I know not too many here use Horizon Gen X, but if you have volume 3, I suggest giving yourself a little challenge..just arrived at 'All Nodes'

Re: Fancy a challenge?
Odd that you chose a strip already available Trev but hey.. it's Christmas
Downloaded but not yet installed. I take it a VC10 at MLW is out of the question then

Re: Fancy a challenge?
I'll be giving this a blast when I get back home on Monday
Probably a bit tight for the 10 Dave, but I'm sure you could squeeze a Trident in

Hamble? They had Chippies there in the late 50's and 60's. Also Barons.

Hamble it is....or will be!
Things have moved on since those shots, but I am still working more from memory, rather than plans and photos! I have an old airfield data sheet (1960's) and about 3 photos. It is a pain trying to tie the two up, but it is getting there.
The AEF hangar and Chippies are fine (I spent quite a lot of time there ), but the far side (the old Fairey/Folland factory) is a bit fictional. I found hangars that look like the old 'College of Air Training' ones, but making the large logo that fitted on the front is beyond my skills!
I have just spent a couple of hours 'pounding the circuit', as I remember it, it's quite odd landing on grass strip with a eight light PAPI (four on each side) approach system. This was in use to teach sprog BEA and BOAC pilots at the ab initio stage with landing aids from day one.
Still got some more to do, I will leave out most of the housing (it is pretty built up) and pleasure craft (to limit the FR drop) but want to include plenty of tankers in the Solent.
