I guess you would just have someone waiting for it on approach in belgium? Seriously, I really dont see the need for that level me information to be publicly available. We managed to get through the first 100 years of aviation with out joe public having access to this so I really dont see the need for it now.

TBH and I speak for myself, sometimes I do listen in to ATC and also this Live Radar but after about ten minutes I'm bored with it. Having an airway right over head then I do sometimes wait for an A/C to fly over and look to see what his height is, but that is all. One annoying point is that why on earth do they show altitude in metres globally it is feet!!!!!!

Nigel.

Yup, and you don't need the live radar feed to find out when trooping flights are arriving, there are other more reliable ways of getting the info e.g airport workers, flight plans etc. Personally I don't see the need for the information to be kept secret, its practical utility is fairly low without already having accessed a number of other sources all of which would be sufficient on their own to plan a hit at an airport.
Heck if you wanted to take down a USAF transport flight just wait at the end of the runway at Ramstein.

Nigel, not sure why it's in metres not feet, may be to do with integrating it with Google maps, although they do use metres in Russia, China and a few other countries.

Thanks Skippy, Garry had also informed me that China use metres instead of feet though I find it extremely frustrating equally so when watching F1, the commentators always state the speed of the cars in kilometers per hour...how I HATE that!! Britain and moi still uses feet and mph when flying or driving, I was brought up with imperial measures, I will NOT give in to the metric fanatics, they can go and take a running jump off Brighton Pier for all I care!!

I'm with you Nigel.

When our kids came home from school waffling about metres, I said what do you mean - gas meters or electric meters?

Same with litres - do you mean fag leeters, or fire leeters?

I've seen a few Jets to day that don't show and some that do that don't move then suddenly dissappear *-)

Only seems to show upper airways......that might be why no T/P show
