Rob Richardson's Sea Venom

Post by cvenom »

Just wanted to bung in my 2 bobs worth on this one.
I've restored 3 Sea Venom FAW-53's and this download is extremely accurate and flies close to the prototype. I prefer it to the Alphasim version as its cockpit is much more representative of a 53 (The Alphasim is pure FAW-21/22)
My only complaint would be the sound needs to be deeper in pitch. It's more Vampire than Venom as is.
Very very happy that after 28 plus years of fiddling with them I finally get to fly one.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum Steve.

You must be in line for medal restoring 3 Sea Venoms, I guess you must be a mix of a plumber and carpenter to do that!!!

Sound in FSX is very difficult area to get right, what often sounds perfect on one system sounds wrong on another. Some FS user have sub-woofers and surround sound, others just a 1 inch laptop speaker.

I do agree about Rob's Venom being better than the Alpha one and his Gannet is a better model better still. The FAA seems to be well catered for in the freeware FSX department at the moment, long may it continue.
