I moved away from using a yoke and pedals (CBA basically and a lack of space) so use a stick exclusively. It's far from ideal really but it suits my needs With the likes of the Viscount and Vanguard.. the fast taxi turbo prop phenomina isn't so pronounced if you keep the gust locks engaged until you're lined up ready to go. The 748 requires rather more care as you all know and the way I make it move on the ground (for VA use where an unrealistic taxi overspeed of 25kts has to be observed) is to open the throttles as mentioned until the props just start to bite.. watch the speed start to build then throttle back. Then by cycling the throttles up and down.. I can keep it at around 15kts without too much hassle at all. I sometimes let it build toward 20ks then a quick dab on the brakes brings the speed down again. The secret is not to let the speed drop off too much.. just keep moving the throttle wheel (I have an old MS Sidewinder Precision Pro 1) and you can keep it pretty much at whatever speed you want.
I have no trouble with my £38 joystick...nothing state of the art here at all......
Never had any better either.....no throttles, pedals or fancy control yokes
Jeez Mr. R...please bear in mind that certain of us could have all sorts of trouble with our SWMBOs should they read that! Mine is convinced all of my Saitek gear is ABSOLUTELY necessary /

Is the PMDG Jetstream for FSX only or FS9 as well?
The Flight 1 Atr isnt bad and the Majestic Dash8 Q300 Taxi like a dream and the sounds for the dash8 are out of this world although the exterior sounds have not been modelled.
You get the same sounds both internally and externally,Is a bit expensive though and the panels are far inferior to the ATR,but they are usable.
A dash 8 Q400 is also assumadely in development on the Majestic website but It has been" coming soon" for the last 5 years and I think it is for FSX only.
Pity another developer doesnt do a Q400 for both FSX and FS9 as I Doubt we will ever see the Majestic offering.
I have just downloaded Rick's excellent HS748. However I failed to find a switch to switch on passenger cabin lighting. Can someone help me? Many thanks.
The lights will come on with a press of the 'L' key. They are not overly bright - you will see the headrest covers for instance but not a super bright intertior.
Also, double check that you do not have the window blinds down (IIRC this defaults to the tailhook command) - this will darken the windows.
