Interesting aeroplane - typical Rutan one off. Shame it met with such a nasty end.

As for classic, maybe not, but it was designed to compete with a British classic or two (normally with the Centaurus removed and a P&W with a Skyraider prop on the front!)

An interesting aeroplane indeed but then again ANYTHING that comes out of Scaled Composites hangar comes under that title......Sadly the loss of the Racer and Rick Brickert was not due to the incredible design but due to engine technology not being able to keep up with Rutans genius -- As I remember at approximatly the same time there was a lot of work with a geared Jaguar engine for much the same purpose that came to naught..Now had he hung a couple
of Pt6s on the beastie........nevermind.... :hide:
