I wondered when that would turn up

I saw the clip at the time

G-AMAD with flap failure at LHR..Took the tail off Trident G-ARPI anf the rear fuse off G-ARPT before hitting the un opened Terminal 1

Interesting piece of footage. Thanks for posting. Never realised that G-ARPI was struck during this. Was'nt that the ill fated Staines aircraft? *-)

It was the same aircraft rebuily then later lost at Staines

I was on a night duty in the tower that night and got to the airport just after 7:30pm, only 2 hours after the accident had happened. The road just outside the tunnel exit in the Central Area was littered with fire hoses and don't think I'll ever forget that all-pervading smell of burnt flesh that seemed to hang around for several days.
