Editing Knee Board

Post by Nigel H-J »

Have been making my own flight plans when flying VA and always write them down on paper either putting them somewhere where I cannot remember or where they get binned when the missus does the cleaning!!

Using note pad, how do I put them into the Knee Board under Navigation Log or even Briefing Menu, anyone able to give me clear instructions (slow learner) then that would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Nigel.

Re my question on the Knee Board have sorted it!! Went to the aircraft folder and located the HTLM Doc for keyboard commands and deleted themthen put my flight plans in there.

Now no further need to look up on the map or try to locate a lost piece of paper.

Oh that's very organised. I like that idea, I'll give it a go.

Thanks, Nigel.

Elegant solution Nigel...

...your task is now to write up all of the VA routes for all aircraft in that format, then upload all the files for members to use.

Is next weekend too soon?............ :hide:

Wonderful Ian, sadly a bit too late to apply but will use it again when I have another brain storm that takes others' interest!!

Ummm...errrr, actually may have it finished by next year at this rate!!  The routings may be a bit tedious to some as they may prefer the more direct route. This is one from Heathrow to Manchester 06R/W. However, if there is enough interest then I might consider uploading to the VA but it will take time to complete!! :worried:

Hi

I was pleased to see this post as I have also been modifying the kneeboard to produce a Nav Radio Frequency card/panel.

Image

It is a fairly simple cut and paste operation to program any info you like into the mission briefing panel - I borrowed the code from the kneeboard keys panel to produce the table.
If anyone is interested then just ask.
I realise the Auster is prolly the least navigation equipment hungry plane out there but don't you love the real leather dangling Turn and Slip Indicators..?

Another small point - I have spent a few hours modifying the default FSX night lighting textures to get rid of the glowing yellow fields, just leaving villages and towns lit. I think it works very well . My screenshot shows Lincoln to the right with Waddington in the distance, but I have no idea how to pass on the mods for someone else to trial it.

Thanks to Ben Watson for his assistance in getting my screenshot to you.

Bye for now
