That livery was on the Heralds and goes back to BIA the airline preceding the main One-Eleven days, that was a new BIA....the IT charter outfit, split out of Air UK just after the merger with Air Anglia. The new airline took the three (or was it four?) One-Elevens current at the time and adopted the entire identity of the former BIA

Peter Villa, the MD of Air UK bought out the 1-11 operation and resurrected the BIA name in 1982 (Air UK formed 1 Jan 80).
G-AXBB, G-AXMU, G-AXOX and G-CBIA were the B14s. Later joined by 2 500s, G-AXLN and G-AYWB ex- Cayman Airways, then G-AXMG and G-AWWZ from Monarch. WZ was delivered in BIA colours minus the titles as it was leased to BCAL Monday to Friday and came back to us at weekends for charters.

BTW one Herald (at least) never went into that livery
I was in Jersey and G-APWF wearing the all blue Air YUK (first attempt) was in the hangar and one was outside still in the orange tail..I think it was G-AYMG

Back end of '79 when it was announced the new name would be Air UK, one of the engineers at Blackpool chalked on the radome of one of the Heralds "Air UK (very large capitals and a very small i and r, so it looked like AUK) - Flightless bird - all flap and no fly"

You may remember too just before that when BIA and AA were merged under common ownership the name would be Air UK but the airlines would remain totally seperate in operation and nothing would change....yeah right
