Old Slide Scans

Post by Tomliner »

I am sorting sifting and scanning my estimated 16000 to 18000 slides although by no means will they all be scanned.Thousands will be disposed of.However as I came across those which may be of some interest here,I will post them. The earliest were taken on a very basic Kodak Instamatic camera and will sometimes be of poor quality,so don't shout at me!Here are some of the oldest
July 1967 at East Mids waiting to depart to Sandown IOW via Birmingham.

Wonderful photographs Eric, looking forward to more as and when you can. Can you include some British Classics such as the Viscount and 1-11? 8)

Nigel.

I keep looking at these and I've only just realised the BM 707 has a spare/replacement engine pod under it's LH wing :-O You might make a few bob off that one Eric *-) ;)

I remember the BMA "Instant airline" 707 -- it went down to Khartoum for Sudan AIr with that pod on.

Also the CAS DC3??? where was that shot? I spy a London School of Flying Chippie in the background.

Thanks for the reply guys,I'm really glad you liked them.In reply to a couple of queries, the CAS DC3 was at East Mids(which was then my local airport),and yes there will be some Viscount,BAC1-11 and no doubt others as well.It is a time consuming job but I have come across so many pictures so far that I had forgotten about many of which are of great sentimental value.Best Wishes EricT :)
ps I have a confession to make. The shot of the Tridents on the apron at Heathrow was taken the day after our wedding when we could only afford a honeymoon in London.I treated my new wife to a visit to the airport. It was a bitterly cold day in January 1968.Well one has to get ones priorities right!
