Well, thanks for the help Rick (& all). As a result of the suggestions I've got it fixed and that's the main thing, (That's the great thing about this board, even if people don't have THE answer the responses will usually get you going in a direction that will solve things one way or another, so cheers to everyone :welldone: ) Now I can get back to enjoying the Austers....

Glad you've fixed it John.
Couldn't get my head around the problem and come up with any smart answer. Especially because nobody else had reported this effect and I couldn't reproduce it. :worried:
Thanks for your input Rick - that screen is in fact in three pieces (front and sides) echoing the real aircraft. Although the two side pieces are curved, the front is flat. Looking at it in wireframe mode showed that the triangles seen by John don't tie up with the polys.
Ah well, another one to add to the book of 'problems & how to cure them for dummies( me) ' That just leaves me with two nagging questions - a) what did I do when I merged the screen from the MK3 to this one and b) how to ensure it doesn't happen again, oh and c) why that effect doesn't show on any of the other windows in the aircraft . *-)
Cheers

Hi Dave

Sorry for saying it might be the model when it wasn't :$

Had a similar problem on my in progress Jetstream but that was me and a smoothing group problem when trying to lower the drawcalls

Glad it's fixed

Regards
Rick

Well, you could very well have been right Rick.
My knowledge ;) of GMax modelling frequently trips me up - just that I usually catch it before it gets out into the world.
In particular, smoothing causes me much pain and much try & scrap work to get it to work reasonably well - so it was a good call by you.
A lesson for me in this - test the aircraft under all FS setup conditions - never knew that 'reflections' box could
have such an effect ( always had it enabled).
Cheers
