I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Her indoors tells me to expect something in the post, apparently she said it could take up to 10 days to come.

Thanks guys. I won't be partying as my body can't take the strain any more since I became ill with ME and I have to wait until my tax rebate comes in before I can buy my pressie to myself.

The funny thing is I haven't paid any income tax in about 10 years (either didn't earn enough or exempt due to my disability pension) but still get a tax rebate. Of course I still have to pay the equivalent of VAT on everything I buy but this year's budget and tax changes have increased the amount of that I can get back every quarter too. Guess I can't complain about the Canadian Federal/Provincial Governments at the moment.DaveB wrote:Three cheers for a tax rebate anyway I think I paid myself so little last year, I might even get one
