Hello,
I have downloaded Dave Maltby´s Manchaster 1962 airport, and followed the Readme instructions for installation. However, EGCC still looks rather default to me. I had also somehow expected that the airport was full of Viscounts, Connie´s, Britannias, etc. But the planes are still the default MD-80´s and B737´s.
I have installed DM´s planes without problems. Any thoughts what could be wrong with EGCC?
My system is Windows 7, 64 bit. And FS9.
Best Regards,
Anders

Hi Anders
Dave's EGCC will only back-date the buildings. You'll have to replace the default AI with some retro stuff separately.

Re: Missing EGCC 1962.
Hello, Anders -
I believe DM backdated his EGCC scenery for simmers who prefer to fly in that era - http://www.calclassic.com has lots of other retro airports for the same period, and proper piston engined AI aircraft to match.
On the technical side, it sounds as if an exclude file is not working - try moving the 1962 scenery up in the Scenery Library list (i.e. closer to the top of the screen) so that it is above any other EGCC scenery you might have.
Hope this helps

Re: Missing EGCC 1962 - now solved
Hello,
Thank you for the advice. It was actually not added to my Scenerey Library. However, on Calclassics I found a trick which is unique for "System 7" users. I am not really sure what "System 7" means; Windows 7? In that case it makes sense for me.
The trick is, that when you are in the add scenery area, after you have clicked on the DM EGCC folder once, you also have to right-click somewhere in the empty white area below that. And voilá, EGCC moves into the top of the Scenery Library
Now, the planes in the old Airport are still the MD-80´s and B737´s of today. I will then have to add Calclassics AI of the era to get planes that match.
Best Regards,
Anders

Hi Anders
Now you mention it, I remember seeing the same advice given here
I'm still WinXP so 'things' Vista and Win7 don't stay long in the old 'grey matter' before being forgotten
Glad you finally got sorted
