I'll start with what I consider to be one of my best shots.This was a grab shot taken at Hucknall at a PFA Rally in 1977 when the Tiger did a low pass and banked.As I swung round and pressed the shutter the pilot (Derek Leatherland) punched the air with his fist.A fluke shot which was later printed at 20 by 16 inches and as far as I know,still hangs on his office wall.

The next six were taken air to air with a 300mm lens in 1977 on the way back to Hucknall from Leicester Airshow.






Next four from 1975.The Tiger Moth is still G-AOEG in its earlier paint scheme.


Approaching the River Trent Nottingham from the North.The Notts County ground is immediately in front of the leading edge.The Nottm Forest City Ground is on the opposite of the river then Trent Bridge cricket ground.Trent Bridge itself is the middle bridge next to which is the distinctive H shaped green roof of County Hall.

Over Trent Bridge cricket ground with County Hall clearly visible.Wilford power station at top of picture no longer exists.

Finally,taken over the estate in Nottingham where I spent the first 20 years of my life

Thanks Garry etc.I was very lucky know someone who was a member of the PFA at the time and was asked if I wanted to come along for a ride,as long as I brought my camera.Well,what would you have done?From that,I had a number of opportunities for a 'jolly'.Unforgettable moments. EricT

That's a very unusual Nipper - do you remember the reg? and what was the engine?

We had a Nipper for about 8 years from 1973 to 1981 - G-AWDA - and contrary to the appearances it was a lovely aeroplane to fly ( although we did crash it twice!)

Hi Chris.No I can't recall the reg but I will look through my other slides to try and find it.It was being flown at the time by Colin Picton who I believe worked at Rolls Royce in Derby.I think he was owner or part owner of the aircraft.ATB EricT

Colin Picton : now there's a name from the past . I used to meet him sometimes if I went to RR at Hucknall, where as well as being a pretty senior engineer , he was a stalwart of the Meteor Flying Club. I don't think I ever knew he had a Nipper
