BBC 'Test Pilot' series

Post by Chris558 »

I received this from Ebay yesterday! The whole six episodes transferred onto DVD. I vaguely remember seeing this years ago, in about 1986 - Indeed it was, as the ending credits say so - not 1983 or '81 as it says on Ebay.

I have seen snippets of it on the 'Tube' before. Glad someone recorded it, as the Beeb seem not to have released it.

Ther are two left if anyone's interested....

Thx for the link Chris.

Make that one left. ;)

Keen to know how good the quality is.

I've seen 3 episodes so far, and the quality is pretty good.

This was still in the days of the Lightning and of course ETPS had just the one - the students couldn't, and indeed didn't get enough of it!

Their Hunters were then the only true swept wing type in the world authorised to carry out spinning training. I wonder if the hawks and/or Alpha Jets still hold that credit? Probably not.

And the 1-11 ZE432 had only recently joined the fleet!

Even my favorite, the Andover is seen doing stalling and single engine training.

Does this not smack of piracy?

I suppose if the letter of the law were strictly adhered to, you'd probably be correct. It depends on how guilty you feel getting something back off Auntie Beeb after years of paying a TV license ;)
