Freeware Environment packages??

After a brief foray to the dark side I have decided to rebuild my FS9 set up… and wonder if anyone could recommend one of the many freeware “environment “ packages available that provide better sky, lighting water runway effects etc??

I have Ground Environment and Ultimate Terrain, along with FS Global mesh and British airports….but the inland waterways are really bright blue and very unrealistic

Any one using anything they could recommend??

FSX with GenX

Sorry, I know that wasn't helpful. I'm not sure whats available freeware wise, but someone did a payware VFR package for FS9 (its now sold under the Horizon lable I think) so you may be able to get it on Ebay second hand. I think it was called VFR scenery England & Wales (or something like that) and then the Horizon product was separate)

I'd say that Pablo Diaz's Environment package (File name: hdev2.zip) over at avsim is simply superb!

Thansk .... I have the FSX Gen X and the original FS9 photo scenery you mention, but I just dont rate the garish colours, even with the vis turned down!!
