Yes like I thought, G-CIVC ventured beyond Cardiff! And those Condors have headed off to their destinations.

Garry, I obviously was confused about what this site shows. Usually the site tends to have a lag of about 5 minutes so I prefer to watch traffic on the other one which has less lag. And the alternative does show the odd light aircraft with ADS-B transponders - there is one that often travels from the Lincoln area down to Rutland.

Once all this is over, please don't access the sites - if they are too busy, I can't keep up with what has is happening overhead And that is going to cost me the price of buying one of the receivers

Since the website location was published back in December, I have realised that instead of living in a spotter's desert (ie away from Heathrow), this is an oasis of interesting overflying aircraft. Transatlantic traffic flying east/west to and from Germany/Holland over Lincoln, and traffic flying north up to Scotland or out of Heathrow on its way to the US. Watching all this has stirred up the spotter instinct again and kept me from this site.

It is facinating watching what is going on around the airways.

The odd light aircraft does appear but mostly not. I never see Flybe Dash Eights appear but they are being picked up and reported on lists.

Oddly G-MANH is the only Atlantic ATP that shows up.

There are some oddities like G-TOYG that is now re registered and with Jet2 but still shows as G-TOYG and for some reason G-OMYA the A.320 appears as G-BYGA which is still very much with BA.

Of course the info is only as good as what is entered into the box

There is a new item on there today saying they have expanded there server power due to demand.

The lag can be variable if aircraft misses an update it suddenly jumps a long way but locally it is about 20 miles.

Unqualified reports of 6 - 7 million tonnes to date.

Eyjafjallajökull's output dropped off this morning, (Sunday),
IMO's radar near Keflavik
has not detected the plume from Eyjafjallajökull since 08 o'clock this morning,
which implies that it is below 10,000 feet (3 km).

As of this evening, (18:40 Sunday),
seemingly Katla is becoming increasingly active. (livelink).

IF NATS/CAA do give clearance to fly in spite of the ash, the airlines will have to consult their airframe/engine manufacturers for their approval and possibly their insurerers and that might not be a foregone conclusion.

Indeed, the major manufacturers are basically saying 'If you fly (in ash cloud); don't expect us to foot the bill for repairs'
and as most airlines (and corporate GA) have aeroplanes still under manufacturers warranty they won't take the risk.
Likewise their insurers; if a flight does go ahead, and does have a problem, probably won't cover it if its' against
the manufacturers' advice.

[rant]I think the gov'ts should start acting; and covering the costs' incurred; after all they were quick enough to bale out bankers wot then paid themselves
huge bonus' with our money....[/rant]

Over the last couple of days, I've been up 7 times in the South West of England, which included two cross countries to other airfields. Yesterday was the worst for visibility - haze - but although the radios were rather on the quiet side, there was a lot of GA flying going on. Better make the most of this nice weather whilst it lasts.

Apparently it is either Flavio Briatore's or Bernie Ecclestone's and it's now on the way back to France.
