Hi all, im trying to find out what the proper colours were for the Grand slam bomb, from WW2
does anyone have any ideas please!!

If you can hang on until next week Neil.. we have a Grand Slam and Tall boy at Brooklands. Pity I didn't see this earlier as I've just come back!
That said.. I couldn't say if ours are painted in authentic colours. Museum pieces sometimes get a coat of whatever is available

Interesting point on what eve is availiable in the museum Dave
That was probably the case in the war.....perhaps it was the same as the bottom of the bomber to blend in, but what ever the official colour, many individuals may not have been so treated

there seems to be 2 colours out there as an official line...
for the tail that is..... a duck egg / eu de nil type blue.....(possibly the same as the inside of the aircraft)
and or natural metal!!
does this ring any bells?

Hi Neil..
I'd go for green for the bit with the bang in and silver/aluminium for the tail.. the tail was ally.
