any good Gulfstream I's out there
I have really been enjoying the wonderfully detailed turbo props that I have downloaded from the members only page (especially the f27 and the l-188) and was wondering if there is a Gulfstream I out there done to the same level. I have seen pictures of this planes panel on airlines.net and it looks similar to other dart equipped planes, though maybe a bit more simple. the only thing I don't have a good picture of is the auto pilot, but I am betting that it is similar to others from the era.
thanks for any help on this

There isn't.
Gulfstream themseleves prevent models being made with cease and desist notices
Some models of the jets were being made at one point and stopped by the manufacturer.
That might apply to the G.1 as well even though it is rather ancient now.

Interesting...Garry Russell wrote: Gulfstream themselves prevent models being made with cease and desist notices

What's the use in such reaction?
They'd be well represented by a worldwide community of aviation enthusiasts -
Why should they be afraid of having their products represented in FS?
Cheers,

I don't know the reasons other than them siting that the products are their copyright
This came up a few times a while ago when there were attempt to make Gulftreams and, or, requests to have them made
I don't know the current situation but there are not a lot of Gulfstreams around for FS which may be a co-incidence or a message.
Given the use of G1-G5 in real life one would expect FS models to be coming out of our ears............unless there was som issue??......

Re: any good Gulfstream I's out there
interesting,
I have a few freeware models of the jets (though they are of poor quality as far as the flight dynamics and panel), including some AI traffic of the g2. could it be that they more of a issue of people making payware versions, then that they are against FS models in general?

Re: any good Gulfstream I's out there
I think it is more of a payware issue, but I have seen posts from folks allegedly stopped making freeware, but without first hand knowledge of the situation I can't say for certain what the true reality is.
I guess that it depend on weather or not it gets the attention of Gulftsream and by whom.
Whatever the reality of the permissions thing, the fact remains that you would expect to see many good HQ models both freeware and payware but you don't.
Perhaps they are not bothered if the models are inaccurate.
Maybe they are concerned that anything out there may well make money....even if it was originally free and they want their cut??
Maybe they are just very protective of their copyright.

it is a shame that there is not one out there, I think that will would be a interesting plane for charter passengers and cargo for your VA. it has good range and capacity and is fast. not so sure about short field performance. here are some of the best pics I could find of the upper and main panel.
main panel

wonder what that center screen is. GPS, radar, or video check list......
upper panel.

Seems downright simple after flying the l-188

Re: any good Gulfstream I's out there
The little screened unit on top of the coming says GPS so that must something else
The G.1 is a neat little thing and a type I never saw much of until the mid eighties when quite a few showed up
only to vanish again after a year or so
Brown Air, Ford and some French outfit spring to mind.
The best part of course is the Darts and who needs more than that to fall in love with a prop
...Unless it's a big one then that would be Tynes

The screen is a radar, same unit as found in most aircraft of the time period and continued well into the Jet Age as the same basic unit equipped the 707, 727, early 737s, and some 747s.
Re: any good Gulfstream I's out there
I think Eaglesoft were in talks with Gulfstream at one point to create models under licence but nothing became of it because the fee they were asking was ridiculous.
