The engines are in themselve quieter but also some folk...upper deck.....are quite a long way from the engines

Having flown Heathrow - Singapore - Heathrow by A380, the quietness on take off is only matched by the smoothness of the flight. I've flown many 747 (Srs 100, 200 and 400) routes as well as 777's, but they can't touch this.
For long haul, I'll certainly try and fly A380 before anything else currently in the skies.
