Hi Pete and welcome
For FS.9 there is one by Marcel Khunt which is a bit difficult to install but freeware
For FS.X there is the popular recent payware

Hi Pete..
Yes.. Garry has hit both nails on the head. As far as I'm aware, there are only 2 versions available.. the freeware model by Marcel Khunt for FS9 which as Garry says is a bit of a dog to install and flies like a bag of poo with the default files or.. the new payware model for FSX by Flight1/Virtavia (Alphasim with a new name) which is quite delightful and if you like Islanders.. is worth the asking price

Re: New Recruits please post details here
Garry/Dave,
Thanks for that fellas. I've got FSX so the Alphasim one would be nice.
Trouble is, my Flightsim allowance is out of the window this month having just bought EZDok Camera and a VRInsight panel. Life wouldn't be worth living if I spent £25 - £30 on an aircraft as well
.
So I had a search on the internet and came up with an FSX freeware Islander at Freeware.net. I think it's a Marcel Khunt portover, but it was easy to install, and having given it a very quick trial, it seems to be a workable substitute for the payware version.

Hi Pete
Rgr that
If it works to a reasonable standard in FSX, then by all means give it a whirl
BTW.. the payware Islander is downloadable.. not that I'm suggesting for one minute you'd try and pull a fast one over SWMBO but as the old saying goes.. what she can't see, won't hurt her

Hiya Tom
You might be a Tesco slave but you do good work. SWMBO rarely shops anywhere else
Right.. one Islander TR it is
Any questions.. fire them off in the Crew Room and either one of us or one of the pilots will be with you in short order

Cheers very much!
I can tell we do good work because every 6 months when the figures come in they give us a free bonus. Sorry did I say bonus? I meant buffet!
First flight nerves are setting in now

I can't help you with those Tom. Practise the flight first noting things like fuel consumption (the F1 Islander is a little leaner than the freeware model but my last 40-odd Islander flights have been in the F1/Virtavia model if that helps) and make sure you don't do things like overspeed on the ground.. watch your landing lights (keep em on in the Islander cause you're never gonna go above FL100!) stuff like that. Try not to think of it as being complicated cause it's not. I class myself as the lowest common denominator and I can do it so you lot have no excuse

First one done
Woo. Felt like my driving test
One question. I taxied in and set the parking brake. Then switched out to the client. I then clicked through the next buttons, rather than clicking End Flight as it says in the guide. The next buttons took me to the Home-News page. Is hitting the End Flight button now not necessary? Little confused as the client says setting the park brake will end the flight automatically, but the End Flight button was still there. And I've checked my flight on FSAirlines and all seems ok.
Hope that makes sense, I tend to type stream of conciousness style
