More PNs from Dave Jerram
Dave has just dropped the Mosquito Mk6 and Bristol Freighter Pilots Notes over at The Pond for those who would like them --- of course you will have to wait for Dave Garwood and Derek Palmers Mossie

A not too subtle hint Leif?

Re: More PNs from Dave Jerram
I went over to the Pond for a look at these and was very surprised to see that these are the Pilot's Notes from Air Data Publications. I was at Cosford a couple of years ago and found that they're still selling these "books", so presumably Air Data are still in business. I was also surprised to find magazines, although they were "of a certain age" (bit like me)
I'm curious about the copyright situation with the things that are posted at the Pond. I have quite a lot of stuff that I'd like to scan and share (including articles from Air Pictorial and Air International) but have held back worrying about copyright. Is it something to do with the age of the things that are posted?
Here's a 2.5Mb taster but better be quick before I chicken out and take it down.
Paul
ps Any advice on getting better quality scans gratefully received.

Hi Paul..
TBH, the copyright issue bothers me too. I guess the 'source' files are important. I've a number of PN's like the ones published by Crecy.. some are repro's from Crecy.. others are originals. While I'd not be fussed about scanning my originals and offering them for free, I'd feel less comfortable doing the same with Crecy repro's. It's a very murky world

Dave/Paul
AS Dave may know, I have an excellent legal brief, and when the issue of reproducing Air Pictorial first came up , She did an indepth study of copywrite laws concerning them , As to Crecy's reproductions ., they are copies of MOD and company PNs themselves so are NOT subject to any copyright by him.
Hope that helps

Hiya Leify
I've absolutely no doubt that had you suspected anything was untoward, you'd have not openly advertised them for download at the Pond
Very handy having your good lady around to check this sort of thing. Just make sure she never asks for a divorce

Yep thats the only draw back Dave.
I didnt read it that way - as I said we went through this when the first round of Air Pics were offered just dont want anyone to think we are doing something untoward, Lord knows Gary Jones was
worried as all get out at the begining with his sound samples but we got that straight as well.

Hiya Leif
No.. it wasn't anything to do with you making these things available at the Pond.. more the entire copyright issue in general as it's a veritable minefield
We've had stuff linked here on the open forum and have removed the links just in case. There's so much stuff available these days, it's so difficult to know if you're gonna get your fingers burned!

Thanks Leif and Dave,
it's good to know you're on the case and keeping it sweet. I suppose the only thing we (as in general membership) could do for the best is let you see what we have and let you make a judgement on whether you'd publish it or not.
After all, you (and your brief) must have heaps of spare time for doing that sort of thing
In the meantime I'll keep scanning when I can so at least that bit of the job's done.
Thanks again, Paul

If you didnt realise by Dave and My aside "My brief" happens to be my wife ---- Second time around (first time was a Flight Attendant with a penchant for flying sailplanes).... she has advised the good folks at
The Pond several times on items of legal standing (in the US anyway).
