Hi Garry

Had a look at your ABC textures. I see what you mean about the double doors for'd. I think I will allow myself a little artistic licence and stick with my design. Means I can have cargo handlers grafting at both ends. Less time on the ground. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Dave, All the aircraft in the new Canadian Division have slightly different textures. Depends on how much of either colour of paint they had left in the paintshop. ;) They are all on view in our forum if you want to have a look. We do have some of your members models within one or two of our other divisions, but although we are a Scottish VA we have coverage all over the place. :lol:

Once again many thanks for the help.

Louie.

Hi Louie

Just had a look at your forum

One thing with the Viscount is you mention the Tyne soundpack :-O which you find irritating but it should be Darts :lol:

Oops!

Hi Garry. It occurs to me that I downloaded the Tyne sounds for the Vanguard but in the end I preferred the Viscount. Vanguard would have been too big and heavy for some of the fields I was going to have it visit. Unfortunately it doesn't change the fact that I found the Tyne sounds a bit grating. Apologies to the creator of said sounds if you're out there. I'm just a sensitive soul. ;) :) Will download a Dart soundset and see how I do with them. B-)

The Vanguard had engine driven turbo compressors on the two inners so in effect it was like a stuck siren :worried:

if you watch the vids taken at LHR in the 60's you can here Vanguards constanly whining away in the background :)

:lol: :lol:

Now then.. sounds! :tunes: RR Darts (Viscount) will have your ears bleeding and RR Tynes (Vanguard) will undo your belt and have your fillings out before you know what's happened :lol: As it happens.. Fraser did a blinding job with both soundsets.. the Darts sound like Darts and the Tynes sound like Tynes.

For operating out of small fields, the Viscount is a good choice as it was omni-present here in the UK for many years. The Vanguard was designed for a different job.. higher than, faster than, payload greater than, further than e t c which it managed for a handful of years before being beaten back by jets :( I wish we had PIM running at Brooklands but that aint gonna happen.

If I'm honest Tony, the bull had a lot to do with choosing that particular little Canadian birdie as a division name. But don't tell the thought police! ;) :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Greets folks :hello:

Just as a follow up to this post I messed around a bit with the Viscount loadout so as to get a more useable freight payload and came up with this

[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]
reference_datum_position= 0.000, 0.000, 0.000
empty_weight_CG_position= 0.000, 0.000, 0.000
max_number_of_stations=1
station_load.0= 000.000, 0.000, 0.000, 0.000
empty_weight= 41276.000
empty_weight_roll_MOI= 1254850.000
empty_weight_pitch_MOI= 800000.000
empty_weight_yaw_MOI= 449000.000
empty_weight_coupled_MOI= 1300.000
max_gross_weight= 67500.000
CG_forward_limit= 0.000
CG_aft_limit= 1.000

It isn't a work of art by any means but it does work without any discernable harm to the aircraft. Feel free, anyone who wishes to utilise it. Once again thanks to Mr Piper for the aircraft and Dave for his earlier input. :)
